Remember when we used to spend Friday pre-evenings finding films for the weekend? Now the world’s last Blockbuster is set to offer one-of-a-kind sleepovers.
Sandi Harding, the Store Manager, listed the iconic venue on Airbnb for movie-marathon-fueled- experiences. The listing is dedicated as a token of appreciation for the local community of Deschutes County for Oregon residents which has shown support during this unprecedented time. Airbnb will be making a donation to the Humane Society of Central Oregon, a longtime partner of the store.
Following final guests check out, customers will be invited to check out the living room space set up while adhering to COVID-19 safety guidelines regarding social distancing.
For those that aren’t lucky enough to land a booking, Sandi notes that you can call the store’s number at +1 (541) 385-9111 to receive tailored movie recommendations. Staff will listen to what you like and don’t like to put together a custom list of movies to watch. Alternatively, the last remaining Blockbuster has a website with a range of merch that celebrates the rare video rental chain.
Head over to Airbnb to check out the listing and request to book one of the three sleepovers August 17, 1 p.m. PST.
